On June 20, 2023, around 5:53 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Kelton Way and Main Ave regarding a disturbance where gunshots were heard. Upon arrival, responding officers located a vehicle and one adult male victim who was pronounced deceased on scene by responding medical personnel. During the investigation, officers located an additional male adult victim who sustained at least one life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, canvassed the area, and interviewed witnesses. This incident remains in its early stages and the exact circumstances of what occurred remain under investigation. Detectives believe that this was an isolated incident and do not believe that there are any outstanding suspects at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
