On November 8, 2023, around 11:21 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Del Paso Boulevard/ El Camino Avenue regarding reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located two adult males, each suffering from gunshot wounds. Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived on scene shortly after officers and began performing life-saving measures. The victims were transported to an area hospital, and despite the life-saving efforts, one of the male adult victims was pronounced deceased. The second male adult is still at the hospital receiving treatment.
Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, canvassed the area, and interviewed witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
