On March 9th, 2024, around 9:19 pm, Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to Ephesus Avenue / Rio Linda Boulevard regarding reports of a vehicle vs motorcyclist hit-and-run collision. Upon arrival, officers located a 38-year-old male adult with significant injuries. The vehicle had fled the scene prior to officer's arrival. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the victim later succumbed to his injuries.
Due to the circumstances, detectives from the Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigations Unit responded and took over the investigation. Detectives and crime scene investigators conducted a thorough canvass of the area for evidence, witnesses, and additional information. The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
