On Thursday, March 21, 2024, just after 3:15 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 6500 Block of Q Street for reports of a shooting. At the scene, officers located one male with at least one gunshot wound. Sadly, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They will be processing the scene, canvassing the area, and interviewing witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time. The suspects were described as two African-American males, one wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans and the other wearing a grey sweatshirt and black jeans.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
