Homicide Investigation – Traction Avenue / Colfax Street

On April 4th, 2024, around 4:21 pm, Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to reports of a stabbing near Traction Avenue / Colfax Street. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult with life-threatening stab wounds. Officers began performing life saving measures and requested fire personnel respond. Despite their efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased on scene.

During the investigation, officers located a second male adult with non-life-threatening injuries who was transported to an area hospital by fire department personnel.

Homicide investigators have responded to take over the investigation. Detectives along with crime scene investigators will be processing the scene, canvassing the area, and interviewing witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
