On Monday, April 29, 2024, just before 2:45 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 6200 Block of Riverside Blvd for reports of a man who had been shot. Responding officers located one male adult with at least one gunshot wound. Officers provided emergency medical aid to the victim until Sacramento Fire Personnel arrived on scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries. During the investigation, our officers determined that the incident originated in the 900 Block of Johnfer Way. Officers secured both scenes.
Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They will be processing the scene, canvassing the area, and interviewing witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. No arrests have been made and there is no suspect information to provide at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
