On Saturday, November 16, 2024, just before 3:00 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 3000 Block of Shining Star Drive for reports of a shooting. Responding officers located one male adult with at least one gunshot wound. Officers provided emergency medical aid to the victim until Sacramento Fire Personnel arrived on scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he remained for medical treatment. On November 24, 2024, the male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Due to the circumstances, detectives have taken over the investigation. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. No arrests have been made and there is no suspect information to provide at this time. 

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
