On Friday, January 24, 2025, just after 5:30 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 3600 Block of 26th Avenue for reports of a shooting. At the scene, officers located one male juvenile with at least one gunshot wound. Officers provided emergency medical aid to the victim until Sacramento Fire Personnel arrived on scene. The male victim unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They will be processing the scene, canvassing the area, and interviewing witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. No arrests have been made and there is no suspect information to provide at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
