On Friday, March 14, 2025, just after 5:45 p.m., Sacramento Police Department officers responded to the 7500 Block of Center Parkway for reports of a shooting. At the scene, officers located an adult female with at least one gunshot wound. Sadly, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene by Fire personnel. 

Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, canvassed the area, and interviewed witnesses. During the investigation, the Sacramento Police Department was made aware that the suspect, 64-year-old John Binion of Sacramento, turned himself into the Sacramento County Main Jail. Investigators interviewed Mr. Binion and later booked him into jail on homicide related charges. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.
 
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next-of-kin have been notified.
