On March 25, 2025, just after 12:00 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Northgate Boulevard and Arden Garden Connector for reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Responding officers located the victim, an adult male, in the roadway suffering from serious injuries. Officers provided emergency medical aid to the victim until relieved by Sacramento Fire Department personnel. The victim was transported to an area hospital where sadly he succumbed to his injuries. The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene prior to police arrival. After a thorough investigation, the involved driver, 35-year-old Abdishakur Mohamud, was found to be driving under the influence. He was transported and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for charges related to felony hit-and-run resulting in death and driving under the influence.
