On Sunday, April 27, 2025, just before 11:15 p.m., Sacramento Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 7600 Block of Sweetbrier Way. Responding officers located an adult male with at least one gunshot wound. That victim was transported to an area hospital where sadly, he succumbed to his injuries. Officers were notified by another area hospital that a separate adult was self-transported to the emergency room with at least one gunshot wound. That victim is in critical, but stable condition.
Due to the circumstances, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were called out to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. There is no suspect information to release at this time.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next-of-kin have been notified.
