On Monday, July 07, 2025, just before 2:00 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Del Paso Road and Town Center Drive for reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Responding officers located an adult male pedestrian down in the roadway and attempted lifesaving measures. Despite those attempts, Fire personnel pronounced the pedestrian deceased on scene. The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene prior to police arrival. While officers were canvassing the area, they located the vehicle involved in the collision and detained the driver.
Due to the circumstances, detectives from the Major Collision Investigations Unit (MCIU) and Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) responded to the scene. They processed the scene, canvassed the area, and interviewed witnesses. After a thorough investigation, the involved driver, 25-year-old Jasdeep Singh of Sacramento, was found to be driving under the influence. He was transported and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for charges related to felony hit-and-run resulting in death and driving under the influence. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
