On Saturday, August 2, 2025, just after 12:45 a.m., a Sacramento Police patrol officer was on routine patrol when they came across a vehicle collision involving a Ford F-150 and a Dodge Charger near Roseville Road and Connie Drive. The Ford appeared to have rolled over and the Dodge was on fire. Officers attempted to extinguish the fire but were unsuccessful. Two occupants were located inside of the Dodge and both were declared deceased on scene by Fire personnel. Officers located an additional person who appeared to have been ejected from the Dodge. That individual was declared deceased by Fire personnel as well. The driver of the Ford sustained injuries and displayed signs of intoxication. The driver of the Ford has been arrested and remains in the hospital.
Due to the circumstances, Sacramento Police Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) detectives and Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene and collected evidence. This remains an active investigation.
The identity of the decedents will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office after next-of-kin has been notified.
