On Wednesday, August 06, 2025, just after 3:15 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of Del Paso Road and El Centro Road for reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Responding officers located an adult male pedestrian down in the roadway and attempted lifesaving measures. Despite those attempts, Fire personnel pronounced the pedestrian deceased on scene. The driver of the vehicle sustained injuries and displayed signs of intoxication. The driver has been arrested and remains in the hospital.

Due to the circumstances, detectives from the Major Collision Investigations Unit (MCIU) and Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) responded to the scene. They processed the scene, canvassed the area, and interviewed witnesses.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
