On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., Sacramento Police officers responded to reports of an assault in the area of 11th Street and K Street. Responding officers located an adult male victim with blunt-force trauma injuries. Officers provided emergency medical aid to the victim until Fire personnel arrived on scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Due to the circumstances, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators took over the investigation. They processed the scene, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses. After a comprehensive investigation by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office, this incident was determined to be a homicide.
Through tremendous follow up and investigative work, detectives identified 18-year-old Dominick Curtisgreen of Carmichael as the suspect in this case. On December 9, 2025, Curtisgreen was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on homicide related charges.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next-of-kin have been notified.
