On Friday, March 27, 2026, just before 8:30 p.m., Sacramento Police Department officers responded to reports of a collision involving two vehicles in the 1500 block of Florin Road. Responding officers located one of the involved drivers, an adult female, down in the roadway with life threatening injuries. Despite life saving measures, Fire personnel pronounced the female deceased on scene. The other vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Due to the circumstances, our Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, canvassed the area, and interviewed witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next-of-kin have been notified.
