On Friday, April 10, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Sacramento Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3300 block of Fong Ranch Road. Responding officers located a juvenile male victim with at least one gunshot wound. Officers rendered emergency medical aid until Fire personnel arrived on scene. Despite life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
Due to the circumstances, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. Investigators continued to follow up extensively on this case. In the evening of April 13, 2026, detectives located the suspect of the shooting. A 16-year-old male suspect was arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall on multiple felony firearm related charges.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next-of-kin have been notified.
