On Thursday, June 11, 2026, just before 12:00 a.m., Sacramento Police Department officers responded to reports of a possible deceased female in the 2300 block of Rene Avenue. Responding officers located an adult female victim, with at least one stab wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

Due to the circumstances, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation.

Following relentless efforts by homicide detectives throughout the evening and day, the suspect, 25-year-old Rudy Hader of Sacramento, was located, arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on homicide related charges.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next-of-kin have been notified.
