On Thursday, June 25, 2026, just before 10:30 p.m., Sacramento Police Department officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 2800 block of Atlas Avenue. Responding officers located an adult male with at least one puncture wound. Officers administered emergency medical aid to the victim until the Sacramento Fire Department arrived on scene. SFD transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Due to the circumstances, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. There is no suspect information to release at this time.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next-of-kin have been notified.
