On Thursday, August 14, 2025, just after 9:00 a.m., Sacramento Police officers responded to reports of an unresponsive 4-month-old who had been brought to a fire station from a residence in the 1700 block of West El Camino Avenue. The juvenile was transported to an area hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Due to the circumstances, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators took over the investigation. They processed the scene, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses. After a comprehensive investigation by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office, this incident was determined to be a homicide.
Detectives identified 22-year-old Victor Weaver of Sacramento as the suspect in this case and secured a homicide arrest warrant. On August 25, 2026, Weaver was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next-of-kin have been notified.
