On Saturday, June 15, 2019, at approximately 11:19 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 800 block of Calvados Avenue regarding a shooting that turned fatal.

One of the victims, identified as James Your, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
Homicide detectives have been investigating this incident diligently since the date of occurrence. Investigators have since developed a description of the suspect who is described as a male Black adult in his late teens to twenties with a thin build. This suspect is believed to be associated with a dark-colored sedan that was observed leaving the scene just after the shooting.
The investigation has led to information that this suspect and associated vehicle may have ties to Northern California, to include the area of Shasta County.
“Our detectives have been dedicated to this investigation for the past 18 months,” said Sergeant Sabrina Briggs. “We are asking anybody that may have information regarding this shooting to contact detectives so that we can bring closure to those who have been affected by this violence.”
