UPDATE - In our efforts to keep the public safe, our detectives have been relentless in their pursuit of locating the suspect in this murder. On March 3, 2024, 32 year-old Avonte Teasely was arrested for murder in Oakland, CA. Teasley was transported and booked into the Sacramento County Jail on homicide related charges.

UPDATE - Detectives from the Sacramento Police Department have been relentless in searching for the individuals responsible for the murder of the victim in this case. Through their investigation, detectives identified 25-year-old Isaiah James and 25-year-old Ayonna Burgos of Sacramento as the two suspects in this homicide. Thanks to our federal law enforcement partners at the Federal Bureau of Investigations, both suspects were taken into custody today in New York City. Both suspects remain in custody and face extradition to Sacramento for homicide related charges.
