Because the media is a valuable resource to keep the public informed as to the Department's activities, the Public Information Office is a central location from which members of the media could obtain information regarding the various newsworthy events in which the Department had played a part.

UPDATE - The Sacramento Police Department is pleased to announce that our investigators have identified and arrested a suspect in this case. 18-year-old Davian Sida of Sacramento was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on homicide related charges. This swift arrest would not be possible without the patrol officers that responded and secured the scene, the Crime Scene Investigators that processed the scene, the Homicide Detectives that were up throughout the night investigating this case, and ultimately our apprehension team that took Sida into custody.

UPDATE - As a result of the continued hard work of our investigators and the support of our law enforcement partners, 31-year-old Kevin Leacy of Sacramento, was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on August 28th, on homicide-related charges in connection with this case.
