UPDATE - 30-year-old Marvin Carter of Sacramento was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on August 10th, on charges related to felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury or death.

UPDATE - After continued investigation by our detectives, 27-year-old Christian Garcia was arrested for charges related to felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury or death and was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on August 7th.

UPDATE - Detectives identified the suspect in this case to be 25-year-old Verick Mason of Sacramento. Thanks to the keen eye of a patrol sergeant, Mason was located on July 22 at a nearby gas station and was detained. After being interviewed by homicide detectives, Mason was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on homicide related charges.

UPDATE - Through a comprehensive investigation by our detectives, 59-year-old Dieshal Battles of Sacramento was located and taken into custody today in Portland, OR, with the assistance of the FBI and Portland Police. He was arrested on a homicide warrant related to this incident and will be transported to Sacramento, where he will be booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. We thank our state and federal law enforcement partners for their assistance in helping keep our community safe.

UPDATE - During this investigation, detectives worked diligently to identify a suspect in this case. On July 08, 2025, 23-year-old Eugene Brooks of Sacramento turned himself into the Sacramento County Main Jail where he has been booked on homicide related charges.

UPDATE - Detectives worked diligently to identify the involved vehicle and suspect in this fatal hit-and-run collision. Through that investigation, detectives located and arrested 54-year-old Jordan Wan of Sacramento. He was transported and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges related to felony hit-and-run resulting in death.

UPDATE - Thanks to the diligent and dedicated efforts of our detectives, investigators were able to identify a suspect in this case. Our detectives, with the assistance of multiple specialty teams and our law enforcement partners in Stockton, arrested 24-year-old Randy Liming of Stockton on July 10, 2025. Liming has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on homicide related charges.

UPDATE - In our continued effort to hold those who victimize our community accountable for their actions, the Sacramento Police Department is proud to announce that we have arrested 19-year-old Vernon Jordan of Carmichael, CA on homicide charges related to this incident. Arrests like these would not be possible without the dedicated work of all involved.

UPDATE - In our continued commitment to public safety, the Sacramento Police Department is announcing the arrest of a 15-year-old male, who was booked on homicide related charges last night, July 31, 2025. This arrest would not be possible without the devoted officers and investigators who identified and located this suspect.

UPDATE - Detectives responded out and began thoroughly investigating this case. Through their hard work and determination, investigators developed information on a suspect vehicle. On May 16, 2025, deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it. The driver failed to yield and led deputies on a pursuit. The driver was eventually detained and our homicide detectives responded out. After additional investigation, our investigators arrested the driver, 23-year-old Xavier Barron of Sacramento on homicide related charges. He has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

UPDATE - Through continued investigation of this fatal hit-and-run collision, detectives have identified the suspect vehicle associated with the collision. The vehicle is a silver 2006 to 2007 Nissan Pathfinder SUV with "LE" trim level 6-spoke wheels and a sunroof. There would be potential moderate front bumper and driver side damage. If you have any information or locate this vehicle, please contact the Sacramento Police Department immediately.

UPDATE - Following a diligent and thorough investigation of this incident by our detectives, a homicide arrest warrant was obtained for 23-year-old Kenneth Wade of Citrus Heights. Wade was located and taken into custody in Cincinatti on May 19th for the warrant. He will be transported to Sacramento, where he will be booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. This arrest highlights the critical role of collaboration with our law enforcement partners.

UPDATE - Through a thorough and extensive investigation, the Sacramento Police Department located 29-year-old Cotrino Mclin in Woodland, CA. Cotrino was arrested in the evening of March 4 and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on homicide related charges. This arrest underscores the commitment that our detectives and officers exhibit to hold those who victimize our community accountable.

UPDATE - Following an extensive and diligent investigation by our detectives, two homicide warrants were obtained for the suspects involved in this case. Today, with the support of several specialized units within our department and an assisting outside agency, both juvenile suspects were taken into custody and arrested on those warrants. These arrests reflect the thorough investigative efforts of our detectives and our ongoing commitment to keeping our community safe.

UPDATE - Through a diligent investigation by our detectives and tremendous community support, earlier this week, the Sacramento Police Department located and arrested 33-year-old Dandre Ortega of Sacramento. Dandre was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on manslaughter and firearm possession charges. This arrest underscores the determination that our investigators exhibit every day in our commitment to keeping our community safe and holding those who harm others accountable.
