UPDATE - On 11/7/16, 28 year old Emillio Castillo was arrested in connection to the homicide. On 01/31/17, 30 year old Luis Castillo was also additionally charged for this homicide. Both suspects have been in custody since 11/07/16. The officer involved in the shooting is a 20-year veteran of the department, Michael Smith.

UPDATE - On 11/9/16, 27-year-old Julian Garcia of Suisun City and 28-year-old Orlando Vidana of Fairfield were arrested on charges related to the homicide in Solano County.

UPDATE - On 10/5/16, 52-year-old Rodney Bruno was arrested on Homicide charges. In addition, 45-year-old Alyce Corona was arrested for being an accessory.

UPDATE - On 9/13/16, 52 years-old Dean Holmes was arrested on homicide charges related to this incident in San Francisco by Sacramento Police Detectives. He has since been booked into the Sacramento County Jail.

UPDATE - On June 25, 2016 a male juvenile was arrested in the connection with this murder. The suspect has since remained in custody at Juvenile Hall.

UPDATE - The suspect was identified as 19-year-old John Zeigler from Sacramento. He was taken into custody on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 on the 7800 block of Summersdale Drive. He was booked for kidnapping, robbery, rape, oral copulation and assault with a deadly weapon.

UPDATE - On 6/10/16, SPD arrested 31-year-old David Moua on the 1300 block of N. C Street for voluntary manslaughter.

UPDATE - UPDATE: Upon completion of the Coroner's death investigation, it was determined that the child's death was deemed a homicide. On January 19, 2017, 32-year-old Marcus Shepard was arrested in Sacramento for homicide in relation to this case.

UPDATE - 41-year old, Willie Roberson was charged with homicide on 4/12/16. He has been in custody since 3/21/16 on unrelated charges. It is believed that the suspect and victim were known to each other.
